Wonderful as always! We have attended the Halcyon Christmas dinners now for 20 years. They have always been great. I remember the days when it was all cooked by Halcyon Volunteers. (I was usually mashed potatoes 🤣). Cookies did a great job and this allowed the social club members and other volunteers to just be able to enjoy this event themselves.
Merry Christmas everyone 🤶🎄

This was the first time attending the Christmas dinner, which is odd since I have lived in Halcyon over 20 years and am now the Social Club's treasurer, webmaster and make the various event posters. Although I can't compare this year's event to previous Christmas dinners, I was impressed and thought the food was excellent. Complements to Cookies Catering! The Chilliwack Harmony Chorus was good but I thought a little long and the visit from Santa, well what can you say ... it's Santa. The only not so positive feedback I have would be the chairs ... after stitting 4 plus hours even with some mingling my butt was getting a little sore. All in all I thought this event was well worth the ticket price and plan on going again next year.

The Rotary Club of Chilliwack has lots of volunteer opportunities too. You can pack hampers for an hour for school kids every Tuesday, help sort donated books for an hour or two for 1-3 times a week, help at the annual book sale, work on environmental stewardship projects such as tree planting, stream restoration or trail building, support the Gala dinner by taking tickets and directing people, and much more!

A big thank you to the Committee who had a hand in making the Founders Day a success.
Kenn Smith, Doris Ramage, Mandy Witt, Linda Tweed, Ben Smiley and our photographer Richard Neddrie. Of a total of the 36 Founder homes, 33 people represented 23 homes of those 36. So 64% of the Founder homes where represented at the gathering of about 90 people in total.
Many of the Founder people have volunteered in many different ways over the past 20 years, to make our community what it is today. An amazing place to call home.

I would like to thank Ken Witt and Kenn Smith for suggesting and organizing this event. It was especially interesting to hear Eric speak on the history of developing Halcyon Meadows and to hear stories from many founding residents on the early years of living in Halcyon.
